The junta troops severely attacked Demoso and Moe Byal, cities in the state of Kayah, after announcing that residents had to evacuate the cities on June 4.
Troops of the military council fired artillery shells in the ward of Daw Ngan Khar in Demoso about 6 am today and a church was destroyed because of this, according to the inhabitants.
“They started firing at 6 a.m. until now. We have to flee out of town and a lot of civilians have also left their homes although some chose to stay behind,” a member of the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) said.
Yesterday, a battle between People’s Defense Force (PDF) and the army was held in Moe Byal Township and a PDF member died.
According to the PDF, at least 25 soldiers died on the military side, but the BAP did not cease to confirm that.

ဒေသခံများ၏ ပြောကြားချက်အရ ယနေ့မနက် ၆ နာရီတွင် စစ်ကောင်စီက ဒီးမော့ဆို၊ ဒေါငံခါး ရပ်ကွက်များအတွင်း လက်နက်ကြီးများပစ်ခတ်ခဲ့ပြီး ဘုရားကျောင်းတစ်ခုပျက်စီးသွားခဲ့သည်။
“ သူတို့မနက် ၆နာရီလောက်ကတည်းက ပစ်နေတာ၊ အခုထိလည်းပစ်နေတုန်းပဲ၊ ကျွန်တော်တို့ကတော့ မြို့ပြင်ကို ဆုတ်ထားရတယ်၊ ပြည်သူတွေလည်း တစ်ချို့ကရွှေ့တယ်၊ တစ်ချို့ကမပြောင်းဘူး” ဟု KNDF အဖွဲ့ဝင်တစ်ဦးက ဆိုသည်။
မိုးဗြဲမြို့နယ်တွင်လည်း ယမန်နေ့ကတည်းက စစ်ကောင်စီတပ်များနှင့် PDF အဖွဲ့တို့ ထိတွေ့မှုများဖြစ်ပေါ်ခဲ့ပြီး PDF အဖွဲ့ဝင်တစ်ဦးကျဆုံးထားသည်။
စစ်ကောင်စီဘက်က အနည်းဆုံး ၂၅ဦး ကျဆုံးသွားကြောင်း PDF က ဆိုပြီး BAP က သီးခြားအတည်မပြုနိုင်သေးပေ။
