Over the last month, more than 500 junta troops died and 300 were injured, according to figures collected by the BAP.
At least 577 junta soldiers were killed and 378 wounded from May 1 to 31.
An average of 18 soldiers die and 12 get injured a day.
The above figure encompasses the junta-appointed ward administrators, informants, soldiers and police.
The figure was compiled from 289 battles between the military and armed resistance groups including ethic armed groups.
The number of soldier casualties were based on the reliable media and BAP.
The figure of casualties and battles may be higher as there were reports of fighting left unconfirmed.
There may be casualties on the junta side as fighting between the military and armed ethnic groups in Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin and Shan continue unabated. On top of all that, more civilian resistance groups have been formed in townships.
Besides, civilians defend themselves against raids by junta soldiers with homemade weapons in townships where PDF have not been formed.
The junta failed to broadcast the actual number of casualties in the fighting that broke out at Moe bye police station in Pekon in Shan State through its propaganda media.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing told Phoenix, Chinese news channel on May 20 that only 47 junta troops died during the unrest.

ယခုနှစ် မေလ ၁ ရက်နေ့မှ ၃၁ ထိ စစ်အုပ်စုဘက်မှတပ်ဖွဲ့ ၀င် အနည်းဆုံး ၅၇၇ ဦး သေဆုံးခဲ့ပြီး ၃၇၈ ဦး ဒဏ်ရာရရှိခဲ့သည်။
ထိုပမာဏအရ စစ်ကောင်စီအဖွဲ့မှ နေ့စဥ် ပျမ်းမျှ ၁၈ ဦးသေဆုံးနေပြီး ၁၂ ဦး ဒဏ်ရာရရှိနေခြင်းဖြစ်သည်။
အထက်ပါကိန်းဂဏန်းတွင် စစ်အုပ်စုသြဇာခံ အုပ်ချုပ်ရေးမှူး၊ သတင်းပေး(ဒလံများ)၊ ရဲနှင့် စစ်သားများပါဝင်သည်။
တိုင်းရင်းသား လက်နက်ကိုင်တပ်ဖွဲ့များအပါဝင် မြို့နယ်အလိုက် ပြည်သူ့ကာကွယ်ရေးဖွဲ့များနှင့် အာဏာသိမ်းစစ်အုပ်စုတို့ တပ်ဖွဲ့အကြား ဖြစ်ပွားခဲ့သည့် တိုက်ပွဲပေါင်း ၂၈၉ အတွင်းမှာ သေဆုံး/ဒဏ်ရာရရှိခဲ့ခြင်းဖြစ်သည်။

စစ်တပ် အာဏာသိမ်းပြီးနောက် ကချင်၊ ကယား၊ ကရင်၊ ချင်းနှင့် ရှမ်းပြည်နယ်အတွင်းရှိ လက်နက်ကိုင်တပ်ဖွဲ့ များနှင့် စစ်မျက်နှာရင်ဆိုင်နေရသည့် စစ်အုပ်စုသည် မြို့နယ်များအလိုက် အသစ်ထပ်မံ ဖွဲ့စည်းထားသည့် ဒေသတွင်းကာကွယ်ရေးတပ်ဖွဲ့နှင့်ပါ ရင်ဆိုင်နေရသည့်အတွက် ထိခိုက်ကျဆုံးမှု များရှိနေသည်။
ထို့ပြင် ပြည်သူ့ကာကွယ်ရေးတပ် မဖွဲ့စည်းရသေးသည့် မြို့နယ်များတွင်လည်း စစ်တပ်မှ ဝင်ရောက်စီးနင်းမှုကို ပြည်သူများက ရရာလက်နက်ကိုင်စွဲကာ ပြန်လည်ခုံခံမှု များလည်းရှိနေသည်။
စစ်အုပ်စုသည် ၄င်း၏ ဝါဒဖြန့်သတင်းစာ၌ ကယားပြည်နယ် (ကရင်နီပြည်နယ်)နှင့် ရှမ်းပြည်နယ်စပ် ဖယ်ခုံမြို့ရှိ မိုးဗြဲရဲစခန်း တိုက်ခိုက်ခံရမှုဖြစ်စဥ်တွင် အမှန်တကယ်ကျဆုံးခဲ့သည့် အရေအတွက်ကို မဖော်ပြရဲပေ။
ထို့အပြင် အာဏာသိမ်း စစ်အုပ်စုခေါင်းဆောင် ဗိုလ်ချုပ်မှူးကြီး မင်းအောင်လှိုင်က အရေးတော်ပုံကာလအတွင်း လုံခြူံရေးတပ်ဖွဲ့၀င် ၄၇ ဦးသာ သေဆုံးခဲ့သည်ဟု မေလ ၂၀ ရက်က တရုတ်သတင်းဌာန Phoenix သတင်းဌာန သို့ပြောဆိုခဲ့သည်။
